Castel Ritaldi (Umbria)

The small town of Castel Ritaldi is located at the foot of the Martani hills overlooking the Umbra valley. It falls within the territory where Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG or “Certification of Controlled Origin” wine and DOP or “Protected Denomination of Origin” Umbrian olive oil from the Martni hills are produced. Here, the farmlands used to cultivate products for MAIA, are in the flat area of the town, where cereal grains (spelt, barley, and oats), legumes (peas and grass peas), as well as flaxseed are cultivated. During the flowering period, the flax plants become a naturalistic art show. This farm is also dedicated to wine growing and agritourism activities.
